When Curly D by Curly Davenport was first launched, the goal was to clean the rules for beauty from the start. As a clean beauty brand focused on natural and organic ingredients, the intro product was Juteux “Luxury Natural Lip Balm Oil” the best lip balm formula. The dilemma and struggle would be how-to get the product in hands of consumers wanting healthier alternatives when it came to lip balm care.
At 47, CR Cataunya Ransom pictured above the co-founder of Curly D by Curly Davenport, along with her husband Kyle Ransom had a true vision for developing healthier alternatives for using 100% natural and organic ingredients.
Curly D is also a Leaping Bunny approved and certified brand. Through Leaping Bunny eight national animal protection groups banded together to form the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). The CCIC promotes a single comprehensive standard and an internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo. They work with companies to help make shopping for animal-friendly products easier and more trustworthy.
CR, felt like women wanted clean beauty products but lip balm care was not a high priority on their list. The majority of major brands are using toxic chemicals in their lip balm products. However, no one seemed to be as concerned about toxic chemicals being used in lip balm and top-selling lip balm brands have not corrected the problem.
Yet still, 81 percent of women and 39 percent of men use lipstick or lip balm products daily. In 2017, a breakthrough report released from UFC Que-choisir found that almost half of the 21 lip balms they tested contained harmful and potentially carcinogenic substances. Products from leading cosmetic brands such as Carmex, Garnier and La Roche Posay were included in those condemned.
For CR, it was beyond troubling that women knew the facts and still continued to use lip balm brands with toxic chemicals. Curly D received even more resistance when trying to educate women about the dangers of using toxic chemicals in lip care routines.
“I felt like no one was searching for how-to avoid lip balm with toxic chemicals,” CR Cataunya Ransom speaking of the problem.
While women were interested in searching online for a Gwyneth Paltrow book that was clean beauty health-related, still they were not ready to clean up their beauty routines.
A serious turn around happened for Curly D by Curly Davenport when the brand started to focus on anti-aging and also pre-pregnancy! Women cared more about their lips causing them to look older. They became extremely interested in powerful anti-aging treatment to help lips as they start to lose collagen and elastin, which occurs increasingly more over time. Juteux restores moisture to make lips look younger instantly. A powerful anti-aging lip treatment to use when lips begin to lose volume, lines form around the mouth, and rosy color starts to gradually fade away. Make anti-aging an investment into your future for fuller lips.
Did you know lips show first signs of aging and this occurs in the early 20s or sooner? Juteux offers all natural and organic ingredients, luxury natural lip balm oil for anti-aging to make lips stay looking younger at any age.
Women became very interested in how toxic lip balms could harm pre-pregnancy and ingredients used in many popular lip balms also cause infertility.
For 2019, instead of offering Curly D by Curly Davenport on Amazon as a beauty brand option it made sense for Curly D by Curly Davenport to go directly to the consumer. Opting to no longer offer products on Amazon for Curly D and focus on building up a publishing platform for clean beauty awareness.
For the New Year, Curly D is seeking to grow their IBA (Independent Ambassador) Brand revenue program with those interested in online money making opportunities.
The global market for lip care products is forecast to reach $2 Billion U.S. dollars by the year 2020, driven by the growing demand for organic and natural lip care products, increasing awareness about the need to protect lips from overexposure to the sun, and rising interest in lip care by men.
